v3.1.1 for full translations

Nekeule updated two language packages, according to him the rest will come after christmas.

To have the widgets translated, nekeule is now offering rofs2 AND uda... both files are provided by him, the rest of the files is available in my "the_one_belle_v3.1.1_for_full-translations.rar" package.

As you can see its v3.1.1 and not v3.1.0.
This update is just for full translations. I had to do it, because nekeule needed more space in rofs2 for all languages.
I just rearanged files from rofs2/core, it is exactly the same version as v3.1.0.

Edit:
full translations - by nekeule (N8 v3.1.1)

Merry Christmas

Since I started modding for the N8, I learned alot about mobile operating system and I had alot of fun experimenting with them.

But what I liked most about it, is the community.

So I would like to thank all of you...
The other modders who are sharing their work and knowledge with all of us and people who are willing to help each other, in case something goes wrong or if somebody needs help understanding how this stuff work.

And of course all of you who are supporting me directly!
All the users of my cfw, people who are helping me testing my mods and cfw's, giving me feedback and new ideas to improve my work, sending me bugreports or supporting me by a donation.

And last, but not least a special thanks goes to Nekeule, who became a very important team mate with the work on his translations.

I hope all of you can enjoy this special time of the year. Share some time with your family and friends and take some time to relax;)
Merry christmas and happy new year to all of you!

Best wishes
Daniel

v3.1.0 (final)

Hi everyone

i wasn't very active via comments lately, thats because i invested the time i had in my latest release.
v3.1.0 is based on the latest belle version 111.030.0609 and comes with all the new widgets.

thanks to taylor for this new leak and il.socio for the new nokia cooker, which makes modding much more comfortable!

v3.1.0 has ~236MB free space on C:\ and ~135MB Ram at startup.

detailed informations about this version are in the changelogs (as always), download for english only version is ready!

give me some more time for the full translations, they will be available soon;)

let me know how this version works for you...
see this release as my little christmas gift for you, merry christmas!!

v2.4.0 (final) / full translations

This is the first final version that comes without the Store preinstalled.
I started a vote and you had two and a half days for voting what store you would like to have preinstalled.

70% of all people who voted agreed with me, so my cfw will come without nokia store preinstalled (for now and for future updates).

All Store prerequisites are installed, you can install the latest version of the store by only one file (e.g. "storeinstaller_tb92_QTbundle_prd_PROD_3.20.049.sisx"), it is as easy as updating!

The changelogs (internal and summarized) are already updated, you will find all informations about the latest version in there.

The firmware itself is uploading, it will be available soon for downloading.

Edit: downloads are available now!
(fully translated rofs2 will come soon, wait for the updated files by nekeule! do not use rofs2 from older versions)

Edit II:
nekeule updated the translations, you can get all the languages by him (link is in download section).
Thanks again nekeule!

Edit III:
full translations - by nekeule (N8 v2.4.0)

v2.3.5

This version is supposed to be really close to the next final version.
If we don't find any bugs, I will prepare this version for final release and full translations and it will become v2.4.0 final.

This version will come without the store (like v2.3.4). Looking at the current state of the poll, the next final also comes without it...
(btw. since i started the poll, nokia store got another update to v3.20.050:))

download and changelog pages are updated, get all infos in there...

Edit: I only packed the changed files CORE/ROFS2/UDA, as always you also need those files: https://rapidshare.com/files/1939738333/RM-596_v111.30.0607.rar
(you could also take the files from older packages)

Wednesday 14 December 2011

v2.3.4

This is the first internal version with the new UDA file.

This Version has 240MB free space on C:\, but it comes without the preinstalled Nokia Store.
(with nokia store installed by yourself you will have around 234MB free space left)

Depending on the result of the vote, the store may comes back in the next final version.
You can install the store by only one sis file, it is as easy as updating (all store prerequisites are preinstalled).

All changes for this version are shown in the internal changelog.

Please help me test this version. Tell me if you are able to install all your apps, if qt is working or if there are any missing components!

Edit: v2.3.5 will be released this evening, it will come with "Ovi Notification Support Package" preinstalled

About Versioning

Since I started modding and released my first CFW, there were many different versions.
You may got confused by that many numbers and ask yourself how the versioning for my CFW works.

So I try to explain how my CFW's get their version numbers and names.

Upcoming Versions

I need your help and opinion guys!

i am currently on v2.3.x.
for that version i created a new (empty) uda!

so i need your help testing that new uda, i am trying to bring any important components back. i will release an internal version, so you can help me testing...
that version will be for testing, not for everyday usage!

*******

Another thing i need help with, is a decision.

At the moment we have ovi store preinstalled (which is outdated), there is nokia store v3.18 (final) and v3.20 (beta).
It won't take long till nokia updates the store again (v3.20 final?)...

if you update ovi store, there are many left over files and that will be the case for every update...

so because nokia is updating their store regulary, in my opinion it would be better to release my next version without nokia store!

I would install all prerequisites for the store, so installing the latest version would be as easy as updating your current version.
only one sis-file installation (e.g. "storeinstaller_tb92_QTbundle_prd_PROD_3.20.049.sisx")

i know preinstalled nokia store v3.20 would be nice at the moment, but in long terms, that versions will be outdated soon...

tell me what you think and vote for your opinion via poll!
(or tell me via comment if your answer is not in there)

Text to Speech languages

You can download and install "Text to Speech" languages from Nokia:
http://europe.nokia.com/support/product-support/text-to-speech

E.g.: for german I downloaded and installed "TTS_German.sis" and "TTS_Nicole-German.sis"
I left the language in "settings -> phone -> speech" untouched (english), because its my main phone language.

The "Msg. Reader" detects the language for text messages automatically and reads my german sms with Nicole's voice.

v2.2.1 for full translations

I updated CORE/UDA for full translations
("the_one_belle_v2.2.1_for_full-translations.rar")

The maps installation issue is fixed...
This update is for full translations only.

You will have to wait for the translated rofs2 by nekeule to use it, I am sure it will come soon.

Edit: nekeule already updated the translations for rofs2!
get them from download section

Whats next?

Something went wrong for v2.2.0 full translations!
That version won't let you install the latest version of nokia maps.
According to users on daily mobile, "nokia_maps_installer_3.08_11wk27_b01_TB9.2_NOCS_BETA" can be installed.

I am working on a fixed version to let you install the latest version. 'till then, you can use v2.2.0 english (which is bug free) or v2.1.0 for full translations.

Sorry about that...

After if fixed v2.2 (full translations), I will start working on the next version.
Biggest change will be, the update of the Ovi Store to the latest version of Nokia Store.

To integrate the latest Store I have to create a new, clean UDA. It will take some time to built and test the new UDA, so don't expect it to be ready in just a few days...

Sunday 11 December 2011

v2.2.0 (final) full translations

fully translated versions of the one v2.2.0 are now available for download.
big thanks goes to nekeule for his help!

Thursday 8 December 2011

Europes Finest!

I know you guys are waiting for the translations of v2.2.0, but I was waiting for something else...

9 years ago, FC Basel was the last swiss team who managed to survive the first groupe stage of the Champions League, with a 3:3 draw against Liverpool.

Too many years passed since this great moment, this season it was again, my favorite club, FC Basel who had the chance to be part of europes top 16!

Basel played in a strong group (CL Groupe C) agains Benfica Lissabon, Manchester United and the newcomer Otelul Galati.

Yesterday was the final round of the group stage and Basel had to defeat ManU to get into the next round!

Tuesday 6 December 2011

v2.2.0 (final)

Because of the release of a few new mods, I updated my CFW to version 2.2.0.
All informations you need (also about how to flash) are in Decriptions and Changelogs.

English version is ready for download, translations will come in the next few days...
(do not mix up translations for v2.1.0 with v2.2.0, wait for new translations!)

Sunday 4 December 2011

How to flash

*** a new version of this "how to" for my latest cfw is available here ***

As a reaction of many requests and comments about the flashing process, I will try to explain what you need to do, to successfully flash your phone with my cfw...

I will explain the way to flash I recommend, there are other Settings you can use, if you know how it works!
You should already have phoenix installed (download is available in "Tools" section of my Blog).

Once again I would like to thank the people who supported me by a donation!
Since the last "Donation Status" I got a generous donation by:

Also thanks again to previous donators, I appreciate your support!

N8 User Agent

This mods was created by me a long time ago, I am posting it now to explain it to people who don't know it yet...

If you want to enjoy full webbrowsing like on your desktop, or you want the same internet expirience as on the iphone, you can achieve that with an easy sis-files installation.

v2.1.0 (final)

I am finally done with v2.1.0!

First of all, I release the english only version, translations will come in the next few days.

Summarized Changelog, for simple overview about all mods, will be updated tomorrow, 'till then you will find the changes in the changelog (internal).

I hope you enjoy this version, feedback or requests for future versions are always welcome ;)

Thursday 24 November 2011

v2.0.8

internal version is updated...
check the changelog (internal) for differences since v2.0.7

This version is almost final, a few details, some tests and v2.1.0 will be ready soon.

Wednesday 23 November 2011

N8 The One Camera Mod

Download the sis-installer from the tools sections on my blog.

N8 The One Camera Mod 3.0.1
I created this mod, to give you the possibility to choose between different camera settings and to provide my camera mod also to people who are using original firmware or a different custom firmware.

Make sure the camera app is closed and then install the file to c:\.
The installer will ask you which settings you want, those settings are available:

Tuesday 22 November 2011

v2.0.7

internal version is updated...
check the changelog (internal) for differences since v2.0.5

How to flash:
The latest leaked Belle doesn't need any Anna files anymore.
Just copy "those files" and "core/rofs2/uda" from my v2.x-package to "C:\Program Files (x86)\Nokia\Phoenix\Products\RM-596" and Phoenix will find the new Version...

Hit "options" in Phoenix before flashing to remove or replace all red marked files from the list.
If you remove the rofs3 you will have english only, if you replace the rofs3 (like you did in earlier releases), you can add the keyboard in your language.
(get the rofs3 for your language in the download section)

Final versions will have all files you need in one package, sorry for any inconvenience...

Monday 21 November 2011

v2.0.5

So here is the announced version!
The internal changelog is updated, so you can see where we are at the moment. The Tools section is also updated to give you the latest versions of all apps that comes with original belle, if you want to bring them back;)

This version is much better than the untouched latest leaked version, but not as powerfull as v1.10.0 (not yet)... there should be no bugs, but of course it needs to be tested more intensive (this is where you can help me now!). You will have ~220MB free space on C:\.

Also let me know if the extracted  apps (downloadable in tools section on my blog) are working for you!

Saturday 19 November 2011

Progress Status (v111.030.0607)

I know you are waiting for my next release based on the latest Belle version.
So I want to tell you guys something about the progress.

I decided that the next final version will become "The One v2.1.0", it will be available in all languages and also will contain all mods "The One v1.10.0" had!

I don't want to just copy/paste some mods in the latest Belle version, I wan't to give you guys the same great experience as v1.10.0 was... so it needs alot of time (especially based on the fact, that this is just a hobby for me).

Within the next two days, I will publish v2.0.x. An internal versions, to show you where I am at the moment and to give you the opportunity to help me testing.

v2.0.x will be a first step in the direction my next final version (v2.1.0) is going. It won't contain alot of mods, its basically a cleaned up and fixed original version.

That means v1.10.0 is not obsolete, it will still be the better choice for people who are looking for a fast and fully modded phone!

Edit:
I forgott something important!
I don't want to give you details about the release date for v2.1.0 (final). It will be released when I decide its ready to replace v1.10.0.

Monday 14 November 2011

Belle v111.030.0607 (RC)

Taylor (at the Daily Mobile Forum) published a new Belle version!

He gave us the original (untouched) files for v111.030.0607.
I will start modding that version this week...

As you know, there are many mods i want to integrate and alot of stuff needs to be cleaned up from the original files. So it may take a while 'till you get your hands on my next release (v2.x.x).

So this is just to inform you, that I am working on it ;)

Donation Status

I like to thank everyone who supportet me by a little donation!
You guys are very generous and I really appreciate your support.

Juh
Miguel
Torsten
Helidon

I am surprised how many people donated something to me, I hope I can give you guys something back in form of new releases and support for my cfw.

Thank you very much my friends!!

Thursday 10 November 2011

v1.10.0 (final)

So again an updated version by me!
I know there were alot of updates in the last few days, but hey you don't need to update if you are happy with your current version:p

The changes can be found in the Changelog (internal)... but the most important difference is announced in my post here: Translations for Nokia Maps

So if you want english only (maybe in addition with writing languages via rofs3), get the usual package ("the_one_belle_v1.10.0")...
If you want to use a fully translated rofs2 by nekeule, you only need his rofs2 and the second package ("the_one_belle_v1.10.0_for_full-translations").

You will find all files in the "Downloads" section and the latest maps installer in "Tools"!

A big thanks goes to nekeule not only for translating the files, but also for helping me testing the idea of the second version (without maps preinstalled)!

Edit:
full translations - by nekeule (N8 v1.10.0)

Translations for Nokia Maps

First of all a word about how the maps installer works...
The installer checks what language your phone is using and then only downloads the necessary language files.
That means to extract languages from the latest maps verison i would have to:

flash my phone with "english" -> install maps -> extract the "english" files ->integrate it into my cfw

that process needs to be done for every language... so you see 'till I am done with all languages Nokia maybe already released the next version:)

So to provide you the maps in your nativ language, I am going the easy way.
For my next version, there will be two packages available...

The full english package with maps integrated to rofs2, as you know it from previous versions.
The second package will contain only "core & uda", the translated "rofs2" will be provided by nekeule.

The rofs2 and uda (from the second package) are especially modded by me and won't contain any maps. So you will be able to install it yourself. That means the maps will have the same language as your phone!

The only downside of this solution is, that maps installed by yourself, will go to your c:\ drive... means depending on your language you will have around ~190MB free space left (which is still alot). So the english only version will have a few MB more free space on c:\.

I hope you all agree with me that this is the best solution to have a fully translated phone!

The mistery of Belle v111.030.0308

I got some mails about the dubious Belle version 111.030.0308, asking me why I am not using that newer release for my CFW.

The answer is simple... ther is no Belle 111.030.0308, at least not an untouched, confirmed version for everyone!

I am sure that we will hear about it, when a new version leakes!
And when that happens, I am going to update my CFW...

Just for your information, the version text can be changed very easy... so if I want to, I can tell you guys I am using Belle "111.999.9999" or I can insert a text string like "newer than everyone elses Belle" ;)

So as long as there is no confirmed new leak, I guess its save to say, that I am using the latest (leaked) base-version.

Wednesday 9 November 2011

Maps Widget Fix

Sorry guys, there is a little bug in v1.9.0!

the new Maps Widget is not loading... i will provide a fixed CFW soon.
but if you are already on v1.9.0, there is no need to reflash to fix it!

download the attached file and install it to c:\
the widget is fully working after the installation (maybe you need to restart your phone)

Maps Widget Fix

Edit:
if the installation aborts for some reason, you can apply the patch manually...
Maps Widget Fix Extracted
just copy those files to the root of your C:\ drive
(you will need rompatcher (active open4all patch) and a filebrowser like xplore)

Tuesday 8 November 2011

v1.9.0 (final)

So the next public release (will be released on Daily Mobile too) is ready!

I made some significant changes since the last final version 1.8.5. which includes the new maps and a performance boost as well.
(My recommendation is to turn off the theme effects "settings->themes->general->(options)theme effects->off" and the phone becomes lightning fast!!)

So here is the download for rapidshare:
https://rapidshare.com/files/2816212935/the_one_belle_v1.9.0.rar

Mediafire-mirror, and changelogs will be updated soon...

Edit: page is fully updated, also full translations are available for download now (thx to nekeule)

Monday 7 November 2011

v1.8.7

new internal release is ready...

it contains the newest maps 3.08 (wk41) and some other smaller improvements, check the changelog (internal) for details.

One Week Anniversary

So my blog started about one week ago.
There are some positive and negative news about this little anniversary...

So lets concentrate on the positive aspects first.
I only shared the link in the Daily Mobile Forum, but looking at the sources, I see that people from different forums/pages are visiting my Blog. So you guys must have spread the word about it, thanks for that!
In this first week, I had a little bit more than 2000 visits (which is alot, for posting the link on only one place, I guess)...

So here are some stats about the pageviews by country (top 4):

Germany 225
Switzerland 222
Israel 209
Argentina 161

So now a few words about the downside...
I was hoping for much more feedback, there are almost no comments and also nobody voted on the poll. The idea of this blog is to work with you guys, to make the cfw better!
So I have to ask, is the firmware perfect, so it doesn't need any feedback or is nobody interessted?

I try to concentrate on the positive and continue with my project!

So thanks for everybody who supported me by visiting my blog, giving me some feedback, new ideas, testing and bugreports or even a small donation.
A special thanks goes to "nekeule" for his work with the language packs!!

Donation Status

I announced, that I will publish the amount of my donations.
I will do that every 2-4 weeks, the blog is now one week old... so I share the first stats:

I got one generous donations by:
David

As I said, I am not asking for money, but every amount will be appreciated!

So David, thanks alot mate!
Your the first (and only) donator, feel free to ask me if you need anything for you mobile;)
(help, special mod request or something like that)

Monday 31 October 2011

Whats next?

The bugree version 1.8.5 is released now...
People asked me whats next, when will the next update be released?

I asked my self the same question and I don't have an answer to that :)
Verison 1.8.5 is stable and bugfree, it contains almost all usefull mods that we know today...

So I am happy with that release and I will give myself some time to think about whats next.
Its your chance to tell me about your wishes, give me some ideas and request mods you would like to see in my cfw!

Also I will have some time for other things, like porting languages or creating sis-files to revert some of my mods (like the N8 Original Camera Settings)... so keep requesting!!

Maybe if we give it some time, even a newer release of Belle could become available... that would give me something new to play with ;)

Edit:
Support for other devices (Symbian Anna)?
Because there is not much more I can do for Symbian Belle on the Nokia N8, I was thinking about supporting different devices like the Nokia C7/E7/X7...

But be aware that there is no Symbian Belle for them yet, so for those devices it would only be a CFW for Anna!

If you want to see "The One CFW" for other devices vote for yours in the poll.
(will put the poll online asap)

Sunday 30 October 2011

Paypal Donation

Hi everyone!

I was told that I can recieve donations very simple by my private paypal account...
So I decided to put a "donations" button on my blog.

Of course everything I already shared and what I will share in future will always be free!!

But if you want to support me by a little donation, every amount will be appreciated.
(I will also publish the donated amount on my blog from time to time, just to say "thanks" to everyone who supported me)

Sharing my CFW

looking at the traffic sources on my blog, shows me, that people from all over the world are visiting my blog!
so thanks to everyone for your interesst!

there is just a small request i have:
if you are sharing my cfw please share the original download links provided by me. i would like to know how many users my cfw has, just for fun (and motivation) ;)

also i would like to hear more feedback, over all my versions i have tousends of downloads but just a few people are giving me feedback...
the comments are open for everybody (without login), so tell me what you think!
(what do you like, whats not good and new ideas are always appreciated...)

Saturday 29 October 2011

double win for Basel!!

I know this has nothing to do with Symbian but:
My blog, my rules! I post whatever i want :)

EHC Basel - Sierre 3:2

and more important:

FC Basel 1893 - Grasshoppers Club Zurich 4:1
(we beat the shit out of them!!)

Also the most famous FC Basel fan Roger Federer was in the audience!
I am almost 100% sure that he doesn't read my blog, but good luck to him for the "Swiss Indoors" next week (in Basel) anyway...

v1.8.5

Here is the next update...
it will be a public update (published on dailymobile), so language packs will come soon.

https://rapidshare.com/files/1595973344/the_one_belle_v1.8.5.rar

i don't have time to update all pages (changelog, download, etc..) right now, i will do that later

about full translations

this site is mainly about my internal versions. i cannot provide language packs for every small update!
the versions i publish also on daily mobile will be translated, but my internal versions here will stay english only.

nevertheless, v1.8.4 has the same rofs2 as v1.8.2 so you can still use the language packs for that release...
(it will show you the wrong version number in device manager, but everything else will be fine)

Friday 28 October 2011

Updated Designe

I think the blog is now ready to be used!
The new designe and the most important content is online...

Tell me what you think about it!
Anything missing or can I improve something?

Also I would like to hear what you guys think about v1.8.4... many downloads and no comments, thats not what I was hoping for :p

Thursday 27 October 2011

v1.8.4

so this is my first share of an internal version for public.
those versions are all supposed to be stable and bugfree, the reason why i call them "internal versions" is easy: they are still in progress!

the download for internal version v1.8.4 is ready now.
check the internal changelog for details

https://rapidshare.com/files/4193085491/the_one_belle_v1.8.4.rar

its the same version as v1.8.2 but with the old ovi store integrated instead of the new nokia store.
(if you update the store itself, the firmware is bugfree now)

Edit: repaired link

Starting my first Blog

Hi and welcome to my Blog!

My name is Daniel aka the_one.89 from the DailyMobile Forum.
I am the creator of the Symbian Belle CFW "The One".

I created this blog to have more flexibility and possibilitys than in a forum post/thread.
This page is mainly for small updates and to make my (formerly) internal version available to anyone!

My latest public version (fully tested and stable) will also be published here:
http://forum.dailymobile.se/index.php?topic=52888.0

Of course everything that I upload here is save to install, it will at least boot for sure!
So don't worry, none of my internal versions will brick your device

Note: I am new to this blogging stuff and this is my first Blog, so maybe there will be alot of changes... I need some time to figure out what possibilitys i have here and how everything works.

If you have some ideas about how to improve the user expirience on my blog, let my know by commenting my post!
